A Carting Accident - The Horse Won

I was in a carting accident in 95. The horse went one way and I went the other, the horse won. I ended up with a broken and dislocated shoulder. I had been a school bus driver at the time of this accident and thought that I would be able to continue after I healed. Little did I know this was just the beginning of a lot of pain and the end of my job as a bus driver.

I went to an orthopedic specialist who probably sent me back too early. I went back to work and found out that bus driving was a little more physical than I thought. The pain was too much. I tried to continue to work on and off for the next two years. It didn't work out so my doctor told me to find different work. I tried 3 different orthopedic doctors, I went to different physical therapists and even went to a pain clinic. I was still in as much pain as ever. Some of the things the doctors had me do even caused more pain, others told me its something I will just have to live with. Pain can really mess up our quality of life. Even every day chores can be difficult.

I finally went to the chiropractor on the advice of my Mom who had been going for a while. I really didn't think that it would help but anything seemed worth a try. Dr. Gruber seemed optimistic and felt he could help. I also suffered with migraines and between the headaches and the shoulder pain, life was getting pretty miserable. Dr. Gruber has helped me a lot. It's been a slow process, but I'm doing so much better now. I haven't had a headache in awhile and my shoulder pain has decreased. He has done more for me than all the doctors and therapists combined. He hasn't cured me but he sure has made it a lot easier to live with.
